SOS ground beef recipe:

Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef
1 can chicken broth
2 cups milk
1 stick (1/4 lb.) butter
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon nutmeg
5 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
6 slices toasted bread


​Instructions:
Season the ground beef with a little salt and black pepper. Pan fry the ground beef and set aside. In the same pan, melt butter. add flour and stir till butter/flour mixture is mixed and lightly brown.

In a sauce pan, add milk, chicken broth, nutmeg, onion powder, salt, flour mixture and pepper, heat and stir constantly until gravy is thick and bubbly. Add cooked meat and stir.

Serve over toasted bread



SOS Chipped Beef Recipe:
6 servings: 

Ingredients:
1 jar 2.5 oz Chipped Beef (AKA: dried beef)
1 can (10.5 oz.) Campbell’s condensed chicken broth
1 cup of carnation evaporated can milk
3 cups water
6 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon onion powder
5 tablespoons flour
1 -2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
6 slices toasted bread

Directions:
Dried chipped beef - Soak dried beef pieces in very hot water for 10-15 minutes to remove excess salt. Drain out as much water as possible and pat meat dry with paper towels
Melt butter in sauce pan. Add flour and stir till butter/flour mixture is bubbly.
Add milk, chicken broth, onion powder and black pepper. (no salt)
Stir constantly until thick and bubbly.
Add chipped beef meat and stir until heated.
Serve over toasted bread
