SOS Chipped Beef Recipe:
1 jar 2.5 oz Chipped Beef (AKA: dried beef)
1 can (10.5 oz.) Campbell’s condensed chicken broth
1 cup of carnation evaporated can milk
3 cups water
6 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon onion powder
5 tablespoons flour
1 -2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
6 slices toasted bread
Dried chipped beef - Soak dried beef pieces in very hot water for 10-15 minutes to remove excess salt. Drain out as much water as possible and pat meat dry with paper towels
Melt butter in sauce pan. Add flour and stir till butter/flour mixture is bubbly.
Add milk, chicken broth, onion powder and black pepper. (no salt)
Stir constantly until thick and bubbly.
Add chipped beef meat and stir until heated.
Serve over toasted bread
